<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc electrode used for a rechargeable electrochemical cell having improved cycle life time. <P>SOLUTION: A solid active material of the electrode includes a supply source of electrochemically active zinc, at least one fatty acid or its salt, ester or other derivatives, or an alkyl sulfonic acid or its salt, its ester or its other derivatives. The zinc electrode exhibits low shape change and decreased dendrite formation as compared with known zinc electrodes, resulting in the electrochemical cells which have improved capacity retention over a number of charge/discharge cycles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
