PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform a protective operation against an overcurrent at abnormality such as an abnormality test, etc. SOLUTION: For a power supply unit, overcurrent detection signals, which are generated within a section B that is set in each (0°-80°) and (100°-180°) of the phase angles of an inputted AC voltage by a section determining circuit 21, are counted by a counter 22. When overcurrent detection signals not less than a predetermined number are counted in the set section, a protection circuit 16 performs a protective operation at the time of abnormality.
