PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rack from skipping a tooth in case of shock. SOLUTION: The lens driving device includes: a rack 102 provided on one of the sides sandwiching a lead screw 101 in a lens drive device 100; an elastic repulsion portion 105 provided on the other one of the sides sandwiching the lead screw 101 and biased in the direction of the lead screw 101 so that the lead screw 101 and rack 102 may engage with each other; and plurality of stoppers 104a and 104b, provided on the one or the other one of the sides sandwiching the lead screw 101. The stoppers 104a and 104b have recesses corresponding to the positions of the teeth of the lead screws 101, and projections corresponding to the positions of the recesses of the lead screw. When the lead screw 101 is not axially displaced, the projections and the recesses are held in positions where the projections and the recesses are not in contact with the teeth faces of the lead screw 101.
