PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing instrument capable of surely bringing a suspension and biomedical tissue into contact while reducing the amount of the suspension that is used and a method for processing an object to be processed derived from a living organism. SOLUTION: A processing instrument 10 that is used for carrying out the process of bringing a suspension r into a specimen S attached to a support SG has a depressed part 11h in an upper surface thereof. The depressed part 11h is formed so that its width W is shorter than the length of the support SG, that its length is longer than the width of the support SG, and that its depth is such that when the support SG is placed on the upper surface so that the surface to which the specimen S has been attached faces an inner bottom surface 11a of the depressed part 11h, a space is formed between the inner bottom surface 11a of the depressed part 11h and the specimen S.
