PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that it is difficult to achieve a multichannel arrangement accompanying complicated pig head structure, a load to an intratubular movement apparatus is increased by an increase in the weight, and that a pig head is prevented from running. SOLUTION: In a piping wall surface inspection method for inspecting a state of the inner wall surface of piping, an AC magnetic flux is generated by magnetizing the to-be-inspected piping in the pipe axis direction by a magnetization coil having a magnetic core as the piping. A plurality of magnetic sensors are mounted to a pig, and disposed so as to detect a magnetic flux component in the direction of a normal perpendicular to a tangent of a circumference in a cross section in which at least the magnetic sensitive direction is parallel to or perpendicular to a shaft in the pipe axis direction of the piping and/or oriented in the circumferential direction of the piping. The piping wall surface inspection method is characterized so as to inspect the state of the inner wall surface by causing the pig to pass through, and detecting a change in a magnetic flux density emitted from the inner wall of the piping.
