PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor suppressing occurrence of product failures. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor includes: an electric element provided in an upper portion in a sealed vessel; a compression element provided in a lower portion in the sealed vessel and driven by the electric element; a crankshaft composing the compression element and connected to a rotor composing the electric element; and an upper bearing and a lower bearing supporting an upper shaft portion and a lower shaft portion provided to the crankshaft. The lower bearing is formed with a stepped portion, and the shape of the portion of the stepped portion, brought into contact with the lower shaft portion of the crankshaft, is formed into a round shape. Thereby, it is possible to suppress the product failures caused by the abnormal abrasion or seizure of the sliding portion of the crankshaft. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
