PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a toner for providing a stable charging characteristic even in a developing device requiring flowability of a developer and stress resistance by dispersing a colorant uniformly and finely in the toner. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the toner, a raw material mixture containing at least a binder resin and a colorant is molten and kneaded using an extruder, and the following conditions are established. (i) The softening point Tm(°C) of the binder resin is 80°C or higher and 140°C or lower. (ii) The extruder has a melting/kneading shaft of a same-direction two-axis extrusion type, the length (L) of a melting section of the melting/kneading shaft is 550 mm or longer and 1500 mm or shorter, and the ratio (L/D) to the diameter (D) of the melting/kneading shaft is 10.0 or higher and 20.0 or lower. (iii) The relation among the barrel setting temperature Ta(°C) of a kneading section of the melting/kneading shaft, the softening point Tm(°C) of the binder resin, and the outflow starting temperature Tfb(°C) of the binder resin is Tfb≤Ta≤Tm.
