The system (10) has particle filters (16.1-16.3) for filtering particles from exhaust gas of an internal-combustion engine i.e. diesel engine. A control unit controls regeneration of the particle filters and an auxiliary heating device (14). The particle filters are arranged in partial exhaust gas strands (13.1-13.3). An electrical heating element (14.1) of an electrical auxiliary heating device is arranged in each partial exhaust gas strand in direction of flow of the exhaust gas. The electrical heating element is separately controlled by the control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for regeneration of particle filters.
