<p>The present invention provides a method for implementing the traversal of a media control stream message through a network address translator (NAT). The method includes: after a calling user in a private network initiates a call to a called user in a public network, a media gateway (MG) for the calling user requests an NAT device to create an NAT translation table; according to the request from the MG for the calling user, the NAT device creates the NAT translation table for the MG, stores the private address of the MG in the private network and the allocated public address of the MG in the public network; and after receiving a real-time transport control protocol (RTCP) message from the called user, the NAT device searches the corresponding NAT translation table according to the destination address of the RTCP message in the public network, obtains the destination address in the private network corresponding to said destination address in the public network, and sends the RTCP message to said calling user according to the obtained destination address in the private network. The present invention also provides a system for implementing the traversal of the media control stream message through the network address translator.</p> |
