PURPOSE:To eliminate the de-magnetization of an MR element by the electrical short-circuiting between the MR element and magnetic bias conductor and heat and to obtain an MR head having good mass productivity by forming the magnetic bias conductor of a nonmagnetic conductor and sticking the same to a back yoke thereby connecting said conductor electrically to the back yoke. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic bias conductor 16 is formed of the nonmagnetic conductor and is electrically connected to the back yoke to form this MR head. More specifically, the MR element 12 is embedded in glass 11 and the magnetic bias conductor 16 is stuck onto the back yoke 15. The glass 11 is, therefore, simply required to insulate the front yoke 13 and the back yoke 15 from the MR element 12. The MR head is structurally extremely simplified and an electrical short-circuiting accident is eliminated. |
