<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a phenomenon in which information recorded in a recording medium is erased due to residual magnetization of a magnetic pole layer after recording. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic pole layer 16 has a normal width track part 16A and an extra width part 16B, and is housed in a groove 12a of a magnetic pole-housing layer 12. The magnetic pole layer 16 includes a plurality of magnetic films 161 to 165. At least one of the magnetic films 161 to 165 has a first part having a first thickness in a cross section which is included in the normal width track part 16A and passes through the center of the direction of track width of the magnetic pole layer 16, a second part having a second thickness less than the first thickness in a cross section which is included in the extra width part 16B and passes through the center of the direction of the track width of the magnetic pole layer 16, and a third part bridging the first part and the second part. The upper face of the third part inclines to the direction vertical to the opposing face 30 of the medium in the cross section passing through the center of the track width of the magnetic pole layer 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
