PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method, allowing accurate specification of a target area in either case of the case of receiving disturbance from imaging environment and the case that a difference in a color attribute between an extraction target area and an area except it is relatively small. SOLUTION: A coordinate point G1 is positioned in a position relatively distant from the origin O, and each of coordinate points G2 is positioned in a position relatively close to the origin O. Therefor, by setting upper and lower limit values for defining the extraction target area in each coordinate axis, a threshold area can be set. Then, pixels corresponding to the coordinate points G2 present outside the threshold area can be distinguished from a pixel corresponding to the coordinate point G1 present inside the threshold area.
