摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device equipped with a series connection type organic EL element capable of abbreviating a process of wiping predetermined ink in forming a light emitting layer by a coating method, having a structure with a large light emitting area, and, further having a high light extraction efficiency. SOLUTION: The light emitting device is provided with a support substrate and a plurality of organic EL elements prepared on the support substrate along a predetermined arrangement direction and connected in series. A light emitting layer of each organic EL element extends in a predetermined arrangement direction straddling the plurality of organic EL elements, and a pair of electrodes includes extending portions extending in a width direction perpendicular to both the thickness direction of the support substrate and the arrangement direction so as to project from the light emitting layer. One electrode extends in the arrangement direction from the extending portion to another electrode of the organic EL element adjacent in the arrangement direction, and further has a connection portion connected to another electrode, and either of the pair of electrodes is an electrode having light transmissivity, and a refractive index of the electrode is 1.5 to 1.8.
