To control the mixture ratio of returned exhaust gas and fresh air, for the supercharger of an internal combustion motor, the portion of the burned mass in the intake plenum (42) is detected from the flow rate and the concentration of oxygen or carbon dioxide. The plenum is connected to a flow rate monitor (70) at the motor exhaust (10) and the fresh air intake (30) with an exhaust gas sensor (75) and a temperature sensor (72) in the exhaust gas flow. A sensor (76) measures the pressure in the fresh air flow and a mass flow sensor (74) measures the air flow rate.
