The instrument has a funnel and an adapter (16) that is provided for attaching the instrument to a proximal end of a cannula (10), where the adapter tapers an end of a cavity of the funnel, so that the end is turned to the proximal end of the cannula when the instrument is attached to the cannula. An inlet opening receives a suture (1), and an outlet opening dispenses the suture, where diameter of the inlet opening corresponds to a wide end of the cavity and diameter of the outlet opening corresponds to diameter of an opening of a distal end (13) of a hollow needle (15).
