<p>Provided is a device and method for providing information, a terminal device, an information processing method, and a program, wherein registered information can be offered to users without being restricted by location. A recognizer (21) recognizes a category from an image of an object substance (122-1) obtained by a user with the terminal device (12-1). A server (11) transmits the recognized category to the terminal device (12-1), and receives a category fixed-line phone that was selected by the user, and additional information (123) corresponding thereto. An information database (22) registers the additional information (123) in correspondence to the recognizer (21) of the fixed-line phone. After that, the recognizer (21) recognizes a category from an image of an object substance (122-2) obtained by a user with the terminal device (12-1). The server (11) will obtain, upon recognizing the category fixed-line phone from the image of the object substance (122-2), additional information (123) registered in the information database (22), and transmit the additional information to the terminal device (12-1).
