PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine and a program thereof which accurately inform a user of whether electrical bill or water bill is saved or not, when an actual operation is performed such that washing is performed for a reduced time or rinsing is performed a reduced number of times relative to an operation content initially set. SOLUTION: The washing machine includes an input setting unit 17 for setting the operation contents, a stain detecting unit 10 for detecting stain of laundry, an energy-saving information unit 19 for representing economical operation, a storage unit 20 for storing an operation state, and a control device 15 for sequentially controlling the steps of washing, rinsing, and spin-drying. The control device 15 is configured such that a first operation content set by the input setting unit 17 and a second operation content obtained based on the stain detected by the stain detecting unit 10 are stored in the storage unit 20, and when the second operation content is numerically smaller than the first operation content, the energy-saving information unit 19 is operated after operation.
