<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas turbine cycle capable of securing the safe operation of a gas turbine member and all other apparatuses, and allowing operation by the most suitable positioning of an engine operation line while stabilizing a format of a power output and efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for operating a gas turbine engine system 1 at a base load and/or a high part load, the gas turbine engine system 1 includes a gas turbine engine 2. The gas turbine engine 2 includes at least one compressor 5 with at least one row of adjustable variable vanes 8 for controlling an inlet air mass flow, at least one compressor 6, and at least one turbine 7. Moreover, the gas turbine engine system 1 includes a control system 10. The control system 10 controls positions of the variable vanes 8 with respect to at least one measured temperature value T<SB>amb</SB>measured upstream of the compressor 5 or a measurable quantity directly and functionally related to the compressor 5.
