PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that recognizes, on the same screen, both safety around a vehicle 100 and navigation information and has improved operation support performance. SOLUTION: Cameras CM_0 to CM_3 are arranged at respectively different positions of the vehicle moving on a road surface, and output object scene images P_0 to P_3 representing a surrounding area of the vehicle. A CPU12p creates a whole-circumference bird's-eye view image relative to the road surface, based on the output object scene images P_0 to P_3, and displays the created whole-circumference bird's-eye view image on a screen of a display device 24. The CPU12p detects a location of the vehicle in parallel with the creating process of the whole-circumference bird's-eye view image, creates navigation information based on a detected position and map data of a database 22, and displays the created navigation information on the screen of the display device 24.
