PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device that enables a map to be scrolled in a simple operation along a designated road. SOLUTION: When a user depresses a main road 32, a map 30 is scrolled so that a position depressed on the main road 32 may be displayed at the center of the map 30, and the main road 32 is designated as a road used for reference of scrolling. Turning a rotary switch 206c clockwise scrolls the map 30 downward so that the main road 32 never deviates from a cursor 31.
