PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime preventive device for an elevator for enabling a manager of the elevator to detect disguise of an outsider, while taking into consideration the privacy protection for a general user. SOLUTION: This crime preventive device for the elevator has a camera 2 for photographing and outputting a state in a car 1 of the elevator as picture data, and a recorder 3 having a plurality of picture data output channels and outputting the picture data to a plurality of picture output channels by receiving the picture data on the state in the car 1 from the camera 2. The recorder 3 is constituted so as to perform overlay display insertion processing mutually different between a certain one picture data output channel and the other picture output channel among the plurality of picture data output channels.
