PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an improvement in image performance, an increase in the longevity of a recording head, and reductions in the cost and size of the recording head by ejecting a treatment liquid at a scan before a scan where ink is ejected and reducing variations in a time interval from a point of the ejection of the treatment liquid to a point of the ejection of the ink. SOLUTION: The recording head 22 includes a first ejection opening line L1 for ejecting ink, and a second ejection opening line L2 for ejecting treatment liquid. The first ejection opening line L1 has a plurality of first ejection opening groups, and the second ejection opening line L2 has a plurality of second ejection opening groups G2. Before the first ejection opening groups G1 apply ink to predetermined areas at different scans, the second discharge opening groups G2 eject the treatment liquid to the predetermined areas at the different scans.
