PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch mechanism having good operability and high reliability and safety at a low cost, in a sliding manual door of a machine tool. SOLUTION: This latch mechanism 7 of the door 4 comprises: a handle 10 for opening/closing; a hinge pin 11 (a mounting shaft part of the handle 10) for the oscillating fulcrum of a hook 5; a detent 13 for regulating an oscillating range of the hook 5; the door 4 which has a stopper part 15 corresponding to the detent 13 and a cam-like distal end part 17 forming a prescribed angle corresponding to a center of gravity position of stopper pins 6 and the hook 5, also has cut-out parts 16 for the stopper pins 6 formed to be located in the vicinity of the handle 10 between the stopper part 15 and the cam shaped distal end part 17, and oscillatably journals the hook 5 arranged with the cut-out parts 16 line-symmetrically with respect to a straight line passing a center of a through-hole inserted with the hinge pin 11 therein by the hinge pin 11; and the stopper pins 6 provided at each of opening/closing ends of the door 4 of a machine body cover opening part 14.
