NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic substance SF2364 and its salt exhibiting the following physical and chemical properties as hydrochloride. Appearance, colorless amorphous powder; melting point, exhibits no definite melting point, gradually changes its nature from 175 deg.C and decomposes at 185-195 deg.C changing its color in brown; [alpha]D<22>=+371 deg. (C=0.2, dimethyl sulfoxide), [alpha]D<22>=+59 deg. (C=1.0, H2O); molecular formula, C23H31N3O5.HCl; mass spectrum (FD-MS): m/Z 430 (MH<+>); nature, basic; color reaction, positive to 10% sulfuric acid reagent and negative to FeCl3 reagent; solubility, soluble in water, methanol, ethanol and n-butanol and insoluble in ethyl acetate, chloroform and benzene; etc. USE:Antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A microbial strain belonging to Micromonospora genus, e.g. Micromonospora sp.SF2346 (FERM P-8979) is cultured at 26-32 deg.C for 2-10 days preferably by aerobic submerged technique. |
