A transfer switch apparatus (12) has first (42), second (44), and third (46) electrical terminals extending outwardly from a housing. A first vacuum bottle (30) is positioned in the housing and has a pair of contactors (34, 36) therein. A second vacuum bottle (32) is positioned in the housing and has a pair of contactors (38, 40) therein. A mechanical linkage is movable between a first position and a second position. The first position electrically connects the first electrical terminal (42) to the second electrical terminal (44). The second position electrically connects the third electrical terminal (46) to the second electrical terminal (44). The first vacuum bottle (30) and the second vacuum bottle (32) are longitudinally aligned. The mechanical linkage is interposed between the first and second vacuum bottles. |
