PURPOSE:To present music of high quality by using a CD player as a sound source and using an equalizer and a wide band amplifier to compensate the frequency attenuation distortion due to a telephone network or the amplifier. CONSTITUTION:A telephone music device 41 consists of a branching circuit 4c, a monitor circuit 4d, a CD player 41a as the sound source, and equalizer 41e which compensates the transmission loss characteristic of the telephone network, and a wide band amplifier 41b which can amplify and frequency area of normal music. If there is not a dead line in a connection line group 5 when a preliminarily determined representative telephone number is dialed, a talkie sound source 6 is started, and a congestion talkie is returned. If there is a dead connection line, the call is detected by the branching circuit 4c, and music is supplied to a telephone terminal 1a, which issues the request, through the route passing the CD player 41a, and equalizer 41e, the wide band amplifier 41b, the branching circuit 4c, the dead connection line, a telephone network 3, and a telephone subscriber's line.
