PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a VTR mechanism at the time of the camera shooting by dealing with a power adaptor which is used only for loading/ unloading a cassette and mounting at least one part of a tape loading mechanism into the power source adaptor side. CONSTITUTION:In loading a tape, a VTR section 1 and the power source adaptor 2 are coupled so that the loading is carried out by transmitting a driving power from the rotation of a loading motor 7 of the power source adaptor 2 through a reduction gear 9 to a loading ring 11 via a gear 10 of the mechanism of the VTR section 1. In the using it as record-only machine, the camera shooting can be done by separating the VTR section 1 from the power source adaptor 2. The unit weight for recording use only is hence reduced by the weight of the motor and motor driver because these are comparatively heavy.
