NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen, OH, methyl or methoxy; R<3> and R<4> are H, lower alkyl, -(CH2)n-Y (n is 1-5; Y is aromatic group or heterocyclic group) or together with N form a heterocyclic group; R<5> is halogen, aliphatic group, hydroxymethyl or carboxyl] and its acid addition salt. EXAMPLE:4-Amino-5-hydroxyl-2-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1-benzoxepine. USE:A hypoglycemic agent, a hypotensor or a platelet coagulation inhibitor. PREPARATION:An oxabicycloheptane derivative of formula II is made to react with tri-n-butyltin hydride and azobisisobutyronitrile in an inert solvent. The resultant oxepine derivative of formula III is successively reacted with bromine and an amine of formula IV [R<6> and R<7> and R<3> and R<4> except for (CH2)n-Y] and reduced to obtain the corresponding compound of formula I.
