<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terahertz continuous wave generation device and a terahertz continuous wave generation method. <P>SOLUTION: The terahertz continuous wave generation device includes: an optical carrier wave providing part for providing two optical carrier waves having a single wavelength, a light intensity modulation part for receiving one of the two optical carrier waves to generate a DSB-SC signal, an extraction part for receiving the other of the two optical carrier waves to extract an optical carrier wave of a single polarized component, and an optical coupler for coupling the optical carrier wave of the single polarized component and the DSB-SC signal. The terahertz continuous wave generation device comprising one light source, one light intensity modulator, a passive optical component, and a photoelectric transducer, suppresses optical carrier waves using polarization characteristics being fundamental characteristics of a light source without using separate optical filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
