PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus capable of correcting a signal level difference between identical color pixels resulting from optical characteristics with sufficient accuracy. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus includes: an image sensor 3, which includes at least three kinds of color filters and a photoelectric conversion element 31 formed under each of the color filters; a noise reduction processing unit 6 for applying noise reduction processing to an imaging signal output from the image sensor 3; and a level difference correction unit 8 for perfoming correction for reducing a level difference between the first imaging signal and the second imaging signal after noise reduction processing, which are obtained from the photoelectric conversion element formed under each of two color filters (Gr, Gb) of the same kind and the color filters arranged at the surrounding thereof have different position patterns among the imaging signals.
