The stationary support housing has a longitudinal throughopening for positioning a rotatable coaxially aligned shaft. A non-rotatable bearing housing is positioned between the shaft and the support housing, comprising at least one pair of bearings. Each bearing has a surface for rotatably supporting the shaft, with a spacer between the bearings. The spacer does not support the shaft. A viscous damper comprises a uniform annular space between the support housing and the bearing housing, along at least a portion of their axial length. The axial length is greater than the axial length of the bearing surfaces, the annular space being filled with a viscous material through the axial length. Spaced elastic supports are in contact with the bearing housing and support housing. |
