<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intercept a power supply to a body control part in a sleep mode by providing a monitoring part for monitoring the occurrence of a return factor to a normal mode, and to simplify a configuration for the monitoring part as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus having a normal mode and a sleep mode includes: an image forming mechanism; a body control part for controlling the image forming apparatus; a power supply part which does not supply power to the image forming mechanism and the body control part but supplies power to the monitoring part in the sleep mode; the monitoring part for monitoring whether the return factor from the sleep mode to a normal mode occurs and giving an instruction to the power supply part to carry out power supply in the normal mode when determined that the return factor has occurred; an interface part for transmitting a return signal to the monitoring part to the effect that the return factor has occurred by being operated; and an option device incorporated with the interface part that makes communication with the body control part after the body control part is started due to return to the normal mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
