PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of easily and accurately specifying a mask region which is not used for detecting a person, without increasing its cost. SOLUTION: The lighting system includes a lighting load 5 for lighting a predetermined object space, an image pickup element 2 for picking up the image of an image-pickup area including the predetermined object space, and a control part 1 for turning the lighting load 5 on when detecting a person in the image picked up by the image pickup element 2. The control part 1 has a normal use mode for turning the lighting load 5 on/off depending on the existence or not of the person in the image, and a region specifying mode for specifying the mask region which is not used for detecting the person.
