The patch (10) has a coating (14) comprising an adhesive that is activated by ultrasound, heat and/or UV-light, where the patch is foldable around a longitudinal axis for insertion into a bottom folding of a valve bag. Thickness of the coating decreases from a longitudinal end of the patch in a longitudinal direction, where the patch is closed at the longitudinal end. The coating comprises an area extending in the longitudinal direction and running over the entire breadth of a material web (12), where the coating extends over the half of the length of the patch. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a valve patch.
