PURPOSE: A kinetic energy recovery system for a subway is provided to produce electric energy by converting kinetic energy consumed when a subway is stopped into potential energy of water. CONSTITUTION: A kinetic energy recovery system for a subway is composed as follows. Energy is transferred by contacting an energy transfer unit(02) with an energy receiving unit(03). A shock reducing device reduces shock generated when the energy transfer unit is contact with the energy receiving unit. An expandable reservoir rail(06) prevent an expandable reservoir pipe(05) from being worn out. Water is moved toward an upper reservoir(09) by the compression of the expandable reservoir pipe. Braking power for a subway is generated from a braking power generation unit(08). Electricity is produced by flowing water stored in the upper reservoir through a hydraulic power generator(11).
