<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically improve a bias voltage to be applied to a photoelectric conversion element even in an operation state of a receiving device. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving device is related to the device for receiving an optical signal encoded by forward error correction (FEC). The receiving device includes: a photoelectric conversion element 212 for subjecting an optical signal to photoelectric conversion, wherein the multiplication factor of an optical current is changed by a bias voltage Vi in the reverse direction; an FEC decoding unit 217 for subjecting a data signal obtained by binarizing an electric signal after the photoelectric conversion to FEC decoding; and a control unit 220 for determining an improvement value of the bias voltage Vi to be applied to the photoelectric conversion element 212 based on the correction frequency in the FEC decoding unit 217. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
