PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the significant enlargement of the amplitude of a transducer element by allowing air to flow in the thickness direction of an element passing over the surface of the element and not causing a force that resists the motion when the thickness of the transducer element changes. SOLUTION: An electromechanical transducer includes at least a transducer element 2, which has a multilayer structure comprising at least two layers and which is capable of changing its thickness. The transducer element 2 allows air to flow inside the transducer element 2 in the thickness direction and to flow inside and out of the transducer element 2 in the thickness direction of the transducer element 2 passing over at least one surface of the transducer element 2.
