PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal for selecting and displaying only data useful to a user from among contents on a communication network, a method and program for controlling the portable terminal. SOLUTION: The portable terminal for displaying the content on the communication network is provided with: a source acquisition means for acquiring a source of desired content from a web site where the content is located; a first analysis means for analyzing whether or not a home directory of image data specified in the source is a home directory of the source; and a display control means for determining display of the image data when the home directory of the image data is the home directory of the source, and determines that the image data is hidden when the home directory of the image data is not the home directory of the source, as a result of analysis by the first analysis means.
