PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device for carrying carried objects on a carrying passage having a curved portion without using an endless chain. SOLUTION: The carrying device 10 includes a plurality of plate members 18a-18e arranged along the carrying passage so that the carried objects W are placed on the upper faces thereof, and motion converting mechanisms 30a, 30b for driving the plurality of plate members. The plurality of plate members 18a-18e are each arranged to be elastically deformable on at least part of the carrying passage in the horizontal direction. The motion converting mechanisms 30a, 30b repetitively execute (1) action on each of the plurality of plate members 18a-18e to feed the plate member in the carrying direction in the state that the upper face of the plate member contact the lower face of the carried object W, and (2) action thereon to return the plate member in opposition to the carrying direction in the state that the upper face of the plate member do not contact the lower face of the carried object W.
