PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for preventing slip of a workpiece in a grinding machine in advance by changing a grinding condition before slip of the workpiece occurs. SOLUTION: The device for preventing slip of the workpiece is equipped with a master servo motor 16 and a slave servo motor 21, which rotationally drive a master spindle Cm provided with a center 14 that supports one end of a workpiece W, and a slave spindle Cs provided with a center 18 that supports the other end of the workpiece in synchronization with each other. A slip detection cycle for detecting limiting current values A1 of the servo motors in which the workpiece and the centers are slipped is executed before executing grinding, and when the current values of the servo motors reach a slip threshold value A2 set on the basis of the limiting current values during execution of the grinding, a grinding condition is changed to prevent the slip of the workpiece and centers before the slip thereof occurs.
