The transmission has a rotary transmission element dipped into lubricant. A partitioning element i.e. lubricant guide plate (14), is arranged within a housing (12), and divides a lubricant receptacle area of the housing into two partial regions (16, 18). Passages (20, 22) are arranged below a lubricant level, and connect the partial regions. The partitioning element runs in a plane that runs perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the transmission element. The transmission element is formed as a crown wheel.
