Upper intake ports (2b) are formed at a main body top portion (1b) of an air conditioner main body (1). An intake opening is formed at a front surface grill (6) provided on a main body front surface (1a) of the air conditioner main body (1). An air introducing wall (6a) which is downwardly inclined toward the inside of the main body is continuously provided on the upper edge of the intake opening, to define an intake opening portion (2a) which faces upward. In the height direction of the main body, the intake opening portion (2a) is positioned under a straight line (A) passing through the rotary shaft center (O) of an impeller (8a) and the closest contact point (7ao) between the impeller (8a) and a front surface heat exchanger (7), and is positioned above a straight line (b) which is parallel with the straight line (A) and which passes through the impeller and a tongue portion (9a) of a stabilizer (9).
