PURPOSE: A carbon containing material gasifying method including methane pyrolysis and carbon dioxide conversion reactions is provided to re-circulate carbon generated by decomposing CH4 from H2 and convert CO2 into CO, thereby realizing high efficiency of using carbon and reducing the amount of carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION: A carbon containing material gasifying method including methane pyrolysis and carbon dioxide conversion reactions comprises the following steps. A carbon containing material is reacted with steam and a catalyst to generate a gas including CO, CO2, CH4, H2O, and H2. CH4 is thermally decomposed into C and H2 in the gasifying step. CO2 is converted into CO.
