NICOTINE TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY PATCH

PURPOSE: A nicotine patch which is used for smoking cessation is provided to reduce loss of volatile nicotine. CONSTITUTION: A nicotine patch for transdermal delivery contains nicotine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; an acrylate polymer as an adhesive ingredient; starch; and a matrix layer containing soluble polymer. The starch is a mixture of hydrolysate and modified starch. The modified starch is hydroxy propyl starch, hydroxy propyl phosphoric acid distarch or mixture thereof. The soluble polymer is pectin. The patch further comprises a backing layer having aluminum deposition polyester film and a release liner having siliconized polyester terphthalate.
