A danger alarm (114) is described comprising a gas-sensitive semiconductor sensor device (115), an optical smoke detection device (118) and an evaluation unit (119). The evaluation unit is adapted to carry out an evaluation of a first output signal of the gas-sensitive semiconductor sensor device (115) and of a second output signal of the optical smoke detection device (118). The gas-sensitive semiconductor sensor device (115) can comprise a metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor and/or a gas-sensitive field effect transistor. Further provided is a method for recognizing a danger situation using the danger alarm (114) described above. The evaluation can optionally comprise a combining and/or comparing of the two output signals. Furthermore, the evaluation can be carried out relative to a temporal progression of the two output signals.
