The adapter (10) has a head portion (20) located along a centrally arranged longitudinal axis, and a receiving portion (40) connected rigidly to the head portion. The head portion cooperates with a screwing tool. The receiving portion has a jacket-like wall (42) limiting a recess (44) in the form of a blind hole for receiving a structural part of a dental implant. The receiving portion is detachably connected to the structural part in a form fit manner via the recess. The adapter elastically deforms in an area of a weakened zone (32) e.g. slot, above preset torque and made of stainless steel.
