PURPOSE:To economically advantageously obtain the title substance which is an intermediate for medicine, agricultural chemical, etc., especially intermediate for prostaglandin by e.g., heating 4-cyclopentenones used as raw materials in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]undecene. CONSTITUTION:4-Cyclopentenones expressed by formula I (R is H or 1-6C alkyl; m is 0 or 1; n is 4-8) used as raw materials are heated in the presence of 1,8- diaza-bicyclo[5,4,0]undecene or organic acid salt thereof or rearranged in the presence of a palladium catalyst and alcohol to provide the compound expressed by formula II. An amount of 1.8-diaza-bicyclo[5,4,0]undecene used is normally 0.0005-10 times by wt., preferably 0.001-5 times by wt. based on the above- mentioned raw material. The reaction temperature is 20-220 deg.C, preferably 50-200 deg.C. When palladium catalyst is used, an amount of the used catalyst is preferably 0.1-20mol% based on the raw material compound. |
