PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde for blocking UV ray is provided to ensure excellent boosting effect of UV protection. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for blocking UV ray contains 0.1-20 weight% of 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The composition additionally contains other UV protectors. The mixture ration of the other UV protector and 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde is 1:0.1-20. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of cream, lotion, spray, solid, gel, foundation or powder.
