<p>The present invention relates to a bleaching composition comprising:
a) a bleach activator having the general formula (I):
wherein R is an alkyl group, linear or branched, containing from about 1 to 11 carbon atoms and LG is a suitable leaving group, and
b) a peroxy carboxylic acid having general formula (II):
wherein R is selected from C1-4 alkyl and n is an integer of from 1 to 5.</p>
