PURPOSE: A laundry treating apparatus for preventing the damage of a stopper by supporting the load of a lid assembly is provided to touch a projection unit with a control panel and prevent the rotation of a lid assembly over the maximum opening angle. CONSTITUTION: A laundry treating apparatus includes a top cover, a control panel, a lid assembly(100), a stopper(141) and a projection unit. A laundry hole is formed in the top cover. The control panel is installed in the top cover. The lid assembly is turned at the front side of the control panel. The lid assembly opens and closes the laundry hole. The lid assembly is opened to the maximum opening angle. The stopper restricts the rotation range of the lid assembly. The projection unit is formed in the lid assembly.
